What I do

Three things, done well.

Hemming

Pants, skirts, dresses — hemmed to the right length and finished cleanly.

Alterations

Seam adjustments, taking in or letting out, and garment fitting. Simple, precise work that makes clothes feel like they were made for you.

Ironing

Pressing and garment care. Crisp, smooth, and ready to wear — for those pieces that need a little attention.

About Sew Simple

Simple work.
Honest prices.

Hi, I'm Jean. I've been sewing for years — garments from patterns, pieces built with no pattern at all, and all the everyday fixes that make clothes wearable again. Sew Simple is my home-based alterations service.

The focus is exactly what the name says: simple alterations, done well, at prices that won't feel like a boutique tailor shop. Drop it off, I'll take a look, and you'll have a price before I start — no surprises at pickup.

Your questions, answered

What you need to know.

I'm not formally credentialed, but I've been sewing for a long time — garments from patterns, original pieces built with no pattern, and plenty of simple alterations. That's exactly what Sew Simple is here for.

Prices depend on what needs to be done. After you submit, I'll send you a quote. Generally comparable to other local alterations services — often a bit lower, since I run a smaller, personal operation.

If you have the button (or a close match), bring it along — that's the easiest route. If not, I can source a replacement, which may affect the final price.

Turnaround time varies based on the job. Standard orders are typically done within 5 days. If you need it sooner, I can often do a 2–3 day rush turnaround for up to 3 items — a 10–25% rush fee applies depending on workload. I'll let you know what to expect when I send your quote.

I don't do zippers. For coats, I can handle button replacement, but I don't take on full coat alterations.

How it works

Three easy steps.

1

Submit your request

Fill out the quote form with what you need. A rough description is a fine starting point — Jean will follow up if she needs more detail.

2

Get your quote

I'll review what you need and send you a price. Clear, honest, no obligation — just a number before you commit to anything.

3

Drop off & pick up

Arrange a drop-off time that works for you. When it's done, I'll reach out to arrange pickup.

Ready when you are

A good fit is worth it.

Send me a note about what you need, then drop the item off. I'll take a look and give you a price on the spot — before anything starts.
